- postdoctoral fellow position in multimodal dynamic functional imaging of aging and Alzheimer's disease risk
Description
A post-doctoral research fellow position in multi-modal neuroimaging of aging and Alzheimer’s disease risk is available in the Computational and Advanced Neuroimaging of brain Dynamics (CANDY) lab at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, MGH. This position is funded by an NIA R01 award that integrates simultaneous EEG-PET-MRI to characterize sleep-wake physiological dynamics in aging and Alzheimer’s disease risk. The successful candidate will be working under the supervision of Dr. Jingyuan Chen, and in close collaborations with the fMRI and PET imaging groups at MGH. The candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting human imaging experiments, optimizing multimodal acquisition protocols, and developing analysis strategies for the acquired data. Depending on their specific career and research goals, the candidate will also have opportunities to leverage the state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities at the Martinos Center (including two research dedicated PET-MRI, one long-axial field-of-view PET-CT, and two 7 Tesla MR scanners) to pursue innovative approaches to studying human brain function and physiology.
Interested applicants should send a cover letter describing research experience, interests, and future research and career goals, as well as an up-to-date curriculum vitae and contact information for three references, to Jingyuan Chen, Ph.D., by email: jechen@mgh.harvard.edu. Questions regarding these positions and informal inquiries should be directed to the same email address.
This position is full-time with benefits and is available in early 2027. Salary will commensurate with experience.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated researcher with a desire to begin an independent career related to or involving advanced human neuroimaging or Alzheimer’s research. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science or a related field; however, strong candidates with other scientific backgrounds will also be considered. First-hand experience with conducting human (EEG-)fMRI, or PET experiments is desired, and skills in neuroimaging data analyses and knowledge of human neuroscience are also highly desired. Strong written and oral English communication skills are required.
