Description
The Center for Population Science at Tel Aviv University invites applications from qualified candidates in demography, sociology, economics, public policy, environmental studies and related fields for a one-year postdoctoral position.
The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to participate in ongoing research at the center in development, attend seminars and events, contribute to writing research reports on demographic trends, and develop their independent research agenda in core areas of population science (e.g., fertility, mortality, migration, population economics, population-environment dynamics).
Applications should include the following materials:
- Research statement (up to 2 pages) describing your doctoral dissertation and proposed research project relating to at least one core area of population science.
- Detailed CV including list of publications.
- Writing sample: one published research article or unpublished dissertation chapter.
- Two letters of recommendation (including one from doctoral supervisor) sent directly from the letter writers.

Requirements
- PhD in demography, sociology, economics, public policy, environmental studies or related fields. Candidates must show proof of submitting their doctoral dissertation before the start date.
- Excellent academic record and interest in population science.
- Strong background in demographic and/or statistical research methods; experience working with population-wide administrative records or surveys is a plus.
- Ability to lead independent research projects and work in collaboration with others.
