Description
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar, Instruction position for the Fall 2026 semester. The selected candidate will teach at the undergraduate level, including general chemistry, along with supervision of the associated laboratories with the help of graduate teaching assistants. In addition to general chemistry, the opportunity may arise to teach either analytical or organic chemistry.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline
- Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.
- The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
- The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
Department Information: The Department of Chemistry at the University of Nevada, Reno offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in chemistry, as well as an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Chemical Physics. The department has 20 full-time faculty (18 tenure-stream and two non-tenure-track instructional) and is housed in a four-story building with state-of-the-art research facilities. Undergraduate laboratory courses are taught in our modern instructional facilities in the nearby Davidson Mathematics and Science Center.
