Pause4Paws is a Tulsa nonprofit focused on providing temporary pet foster care for individuals impacted by homelessness, mental illness, or addiction who have no other resources to care for their pets while they receive inpatient medical, mental health, or addiction treatment. We are a small, but growing, organization and teamwork is the key to our success.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Program Director is responsible for managing all aspects of the program including foster family recruitment and retention, client intakes, and pet care. This is a full-time 40-hour per week position with some flexibility over work hours. Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.
The Program Director must be able to think strategically and practically to fulfill this role and must be a self-starter with the ability to work off-site with minimal day-to-day supervision.
This position reports to the Executive Director and supervises the Case Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Foster Program, including supervision of program staff
- Support organization by working with Executive Director to:
- Prepare weekly program status report for Executive Director
- In coordination with Executive Director, develop and manage program budget, subject to board approval
- Maintain database of volunteers, foster families, and pets, including producing reports to showcase program data
- Support and attend fundraising events
- Direct volunteer coordination and engagement
- Proactively recruit and retain foster families and volunteers
- Manage volunteers as needed to help with community events
- Organize and manage volunteer appreciation events or activities
- Maintain, develop, and nurture relationships with partner agencies and veterinarians
- Nurture and maintain relationships with partner organizations including social service agencies, health care providers, and animal rescue organizations
- Maintain relationships with veterinarians and vet staff to provide free or low-cost pet care services
- Deliver presentations to social service organizations, health care providers and case managers about Pause4Paws’ foster program
- Provide materials to referring agencies
- Case Management Support
- Act as back-up support for case manager when needed

Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 1-3 years’ experience of management experience.
Proven track record of program leadership, operations and implementation.
Ability to balance multiple priorities with minimal day-to-day oversight.
A track record in community building and collaborative partnerships
Experience with organizations that provide services to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, or addiction.
Experience and comfort working with pets of all kinds.
Valid Oklahoma driver’s license, clean driving record, and current insurance
Deep appreciation and understanding of Pause4Paws’ mission and the ability to articulate its values and vision internally and externally.
Strong attention to detail.
Solid written and oral communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Experience with Bloomerang or other Case Management and Volunteer Management software a plus.
Must reside in the Tulsa area.
