Description
Identifies psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues, and diagnoses disorders using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, and reference materials.
Utilizes knowledge of substance abuse, dependence, and addictive behaviors and their treatment to screen for psychoactive substance toxicity, intoxication, withdrawal symptoms, co-existing mental health problems, and danger to self or others.
Determines clients’ readiness for treatment and change.
Develops and implements individual treatment plans, specifying therapy type, frequency, intensity, and duration.
Utilizes understanding of the range of treatment needed and knowledge of available treatment resources and their appropriate use in formulating (with clients) mutually agreed-upon treatment goals and measurable objectives.
Completes psychological consultations.
Provides individual and group therapy for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services.

Requirements
Required Education:
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in psychology
Required Experience:
None required
Preferred Experience:
Experience in general psychological testing.
Experience working in an acute care medical setting with a general medical and psychiatric population.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
Licensed as a psychologist in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 490 (Psychological Services)
