Position: High School Science/Health Teacher 1.0 FTE
Employment Starting Date: August 24, 2026
Salary: Placement on the negotiated salary schedule established by Sprague and Lamont School Districts. Salary: $52,737 – $101,990 increments depend on experience in the same or similar position. This position is eligible for medical and retirement benefits.
Requirements: Valid Washington State teaching certificate
High School Science Endorsement
Health Endorsement Preferred
Classes to be Taught: Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Health, and electives based on applicant’s skill set and district needs.

Essential Job-Related Activities and Responsibilities:
Possess current knowledge of high school science curriculum.
Effectively teach science for grades 9-12 in alignment with state standards
Effectively communicate and establish rapport with students, parents, staff, community and administrative personnel
Work with students who have Individual Educational Plan (IEP)
Work with students who are part of the Highly Capable Program (HCP)
Demonstrate the ability to effectively track student progress and maintain accurate records
Plan and develop a variety of instructional experiences appropriate for the specified learning objectives and outcomes for high school science
Demonstrate ability to maintain a positive classroom environment through the use of appropriate classroom management techniques consistent with best practices
Be a positive team builder who works collaboratively and participates constructively with our PLC groups
Organize the physical setting of the classroom so it positively contributes to learning
Complete other duties as assigned
