- Treasurer/Finance Director
Description
Under direction of the City Manager, the City Treasurer/Finance Director's responsibilities include preparing and presenting the city’s fiscal year budget, planning and directing the collection, custody, investment, and disbursement of City funds; reviewing all City departments financial activities; monitoring, analyzing and coordinating investments, bonds, loans and lease purchases; preparing required official periodic reports , including those to other jurisdictions; and coordinating the City’s annual audit. This position is also responsible for supervising and monitoring the City’s water/sewer billing functions, working by and within the purchasing policies and procedures established by City Council resolution.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or economics; a Master of Public Administration (MPA) is highly preferred
- 3 years of experience as a Director, Manager, or Supervisor
- 3 years of direct experience with municipal finance or accounting
- 3 years of direct experience performing an annual municipal audit or coordinating an audit with an audit firm
- Michigan Certified Professional Treasurer (MiCPT)
- Certified Public Finance Officer (CFPO) – preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – preferred
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA) – preferred
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) – preferred
- Member of Michigan Government Finance Officers Association (MGFOA) or Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA)
