Job Description:

Worcester State University's Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences invites applicants for  a full-time, temporary, visiting assistant professor or visiting assistant instructor position in speech-language pathology for January-May 2027. We seek individuals with expertise in any of the following areas:

• acquired adult language disorders/aphasia
• adult neurogenic communicative disorders

The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at Worcester State University serves to meet the needs of its students by providing a rigorous, scientifically sound, culturally responsive, evidence-based education with experiential learning opportunities. In doing so, we provide our students the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skill necessary for personal, professional, and intellectual achievement within their community.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses for a total of 12 credits or four courses, advise undergraduate and graduate students, have the opportunity to supervise in the on-campus Speech-Language Hearing Center, have the opportunity to mentor students in a research environment, and serve on Department committees. 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree or SLP.D.
• Three years experience as a speech-language pathologist, graduate student supervision experience.  
• Eligibility for or current holder of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts professional licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Earned research doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.).
• Three years experience as a speech-language pathologist.
• Graduate student supervision experience,
• Current holder of Commonwealth of Massachusetts professional licensure in Speech-Language Pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). 

Additional Information:

This is a full-time,  benefited, exempt position. Salary is commensurate with experience in accordance with the Appendix O of the MSCA contract. The anticipated start date for this position is January 2027.
